Ford Recall Tracker is not an official recall notification service. A campaign appearing on this website does not establish that your individual vehicle is affected. Likewise, failure to find a campaign here does not establish that your vehicle has no outstanding recalls.
For information concerning your specific vehicle, check your VIN using the official NHTSA recall lookup and/or Ford’s official recall service before relying on anything on this site.
Official NHTSA VIN Lookup →SOME OF THE SUSPECT VEHICLES MAY HAVE BEEN PRODUCED WITH THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE INCORRECTLY INDEXED AT THE ATTACHMENT TO THE STARTER SOLENOID. CABLE INSULATION DAMAGE COULD OCCUR DUE TO METAL ON METAL CONTACT DURING MAXIMUM ENGINE ROLL CONDITIONS. AN ELECTRICAL SHORT MAY DEVELOP BETWEEN THE BATTERY CABLE AND A BRAKE TUBE. A HOLE COULD BE FORMED IN THE BRAKE TUBE, RESULTING IN LOSS OF BRAKE FLUID AND REDUCED BRAKING CAPABILITY.
DEALER WILL INSPECT AND, IF NECESSARY, RE-INDEX THE STARTER POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE ATTACHMENT AT NO COST TO OWNER.
