NHTSA Opens Ford Maverick Hybrid Braking Petition
Federal regulators have opened a defect petition to investigate reports of intermittent braking loss in approximately 82,040 Ford Maverick Hybrid pickups. The probe follows a consumer complaint alleging that the e-boost brake-by-wire system failed to stop the vehicle during a collision event despite multiple prior repair attempts.
Brakes are strictly optional in the pursuit of innovation.
